When you pray, don't babble

Matthew 6:7

“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again.

Prayer is simply having a one on one conversation with the Lord. Its something personal and intimate. Sometimes we think that by using eloquent words that God will be impressed. Or we think if we repeat the same sentence over and over, surely God will be satisfied.

But the only thing God wants to hear is us being completely honest with him. He understands our language and we certainly don't need to use eloquent words or repetition for him to hear our hearts.

So today, as we're speaking to God, let's speak to him as if we're speaking to our very best friend.

Even though I walk through Valleys

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

There are seasons in our lives, where we feel like we are walking through dark valleys. But we have to remember that even at our lowest, GOD will never leave us. Let's allow GOD's love to be our comfort.

I will instruct you...

Psalm 32:8

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Many times our future can seem so unsure. Changes occur everyday. Life is unpredictable and that can create fear in us.

But TODAY, God promises us that he will instruct us and teach us the way we should go. So let's trust God's leadership and let's not fear the unknown.

Lazy People Always have an excuse

Proverbs 22:13

The lazy person says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be killed in the streets!”

Lazy people will always find a reason not to get things done. Procrastination is an epidemic that effects so many of us. We always say yes I was going to do it but... There's a million excuses we give others and ourselves daily.

Today, as believers let's put ALL laziness & procrastination to the side. Let's stay true to our word and if we say we're going to do it. Let's get it done!

Give Us Our Daily Bread

Matthew 6:11

Give us our daily bread.

When we say "Give us our daily bread" do we realize what we're asking? Are we saying this prayer out of habit ?

Or do we know that by asking GOD to provide our daily bread., we are saying GOD we trust you fully today. Every single day, God has a blessing for us. He wants to provide us with the provision we need to sustain us for that day.

So, today as we go about our day, let's ask God to give us our daily bread. Give us the spiritual nourishment TODAY that we need to help us get through this day. Give us the patience, peace, joy, love & gentleness that only you can provide.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose It doesn't matter what situation we're going through at this moment. When we LOVE God, each situation in our lives even those that are meant to destroy & break us will be turned around into a blessing.

Therefore let's rejoice because GOD is GOOD!

Noah Found Favor

Genesi 6:8

But Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord. How does Noah find FAVOR from God in a world that was so corrupt and wicked?

The Word of God says he REMAINED FAITHFUL to God. There were was corruption all around him, and yet Noah was determined to Seek GOD regardless of his environment.

Today, let's be encouraged to SEEK GOD regardless how corrupt our world & surroundings are.

Love GOD with ALL

Matthew 22:37

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind.

The Word doesn't say love GOD with half of your heart, soul and mind. It says ALL. Sometimes we don't commit fully to GOD because we're afraid of failure. But GOD isn't asking for perfection he's asking for commitment. He wants our entire Heart, Soul & Mind.

Today, lets Commit & Love God with everything we are and allow HIS love to transform us from the inside out.

I will RESTORE to you what you've lost

Joel 2:25-26

I will RESTORE to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame.

Today, don't fear what you've lost along the way because GOD promises to RESTORE everything the enemy has stolen from you. REMAIN faithful & don't give up!

Walk According to His Will, Avoid Unnecessary Heartache

James 4:13

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”

Today before making plans for tomorrow, next week or even next year. Let's make sure we PRAY and consult it with GOD first.. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the beginning and the end. When we walk according to HIS WILL for our lives, we avoid unnecessary heartache.

John 15:19

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I HAVE CHOSEN YOU out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Sometimes we wonder why we don't fit in, why so many people dislike us. But remember we've been marked by the blood of Jesus. We were born to stand out. Its OK if we're not liked by everyone cause we're LOVED by the ALMIGHTY.

Today, let's stop trying to fit in! Let's stop feeling bad that the world doesn't accept us and REMEMBER WE ARE CHOSEN.

While we were still sinners...

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were STILL SINNERS, Christ died for us.

Some of us think that God will LOVE us once we "change" into the person he created us to be. Once we stop all of our bad habits. Once we become "good".

We are REMINDED that WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, Christ DIED for us. He died knowing that we would fail him constantly, yet he did it anyway. That's unconditional love.

Today, don't wait to change before accepting God's love. Accepting God's love will change you all on it's own.

We as BELIEVERS have POWER

2 Corinthians 10:5

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

In this day and age, everything around us is publicizing something negative. Whether you hear it on the radio, turn your TV on, or go on the internet,. This kind of negativity tends to have its effect on our thought process. In other words, its hard to do the right thing, if the thoughts in our minds are constantly being poisoned by the media.

But 2 Corinthians reminds us that WE AS BELIEVERS have the power to DEMOLISH anything that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. We also have the POWER TO CONTROL and TAKE CAPTIVE our thoughts.

So though sometimes, we may have stinking thinking, let's remember we have the power to change those thoughts and do the right thing.

Beauty for Ashes

Isaiah 61:3

To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of BEAUTY for ASHES a joyous BLESSING instead of MOURNING, festive PRAISE instead of DESPAIR.

Don't fret about what's going on in your life at this moment! GOD SEES, HEARS and KNOWS ALL THINGS.

Here in ISAIAH 61 is HIS PROMISE to you, everything that your going through at this moment that looks dead he will change into something beautiful, he will turn it around into a blessing and your cry of despair will be changed into a Praise of VICTORY.

Best Speech You'll Ever REGRET

Proverbs 29:11

A fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back

I'm sure we've all had those moments where we've said the best speech we've ever regretted by letting our anger speak for us. We just say ANYTHING & EVERYTHING that comes to mind at that moment.

But, we are reminded that only fools vent out all their feelings. A wise man holds back his words. Today. let's pay attention to our anger, and NOT let it dictate what proceeds out of our mouths.

Give Thanks

Psalms 107:1

Give THANKS to the Lord, for he is GOOD; his LOVE endures forever.

Today, the circumstances in our lives may want to convince us that the above declaration is false.

But GOD IS GOOD regardless what's taking place in us or around us. God's goodness isn't based on our situations or our feelings. He proved his LOVE for us, when he sent his one and only son Jesus to REDEEM us from eternal condemnation.

LET'S BE JOYFUL, cause we've been REDEEMED. That's reason enough to declare God's goodness in our lives. Have a great weekend. 😊

A Man After God's Own Heart

Acts 13:22

And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY OWN HEART, who will do all My will.’

We would think that if David was considered "A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART" he must've been a perfect man. But David was far from perfect. He had a serious problems with his ability to maintain healthy relationships, his Temper, his Lust, his constant Lying, etc etc.

BUT one thing David did do and its that EVERY TIME he sinned against God, every time he made yet another mistake, every time he screwed something else up, he would do a self examination. He ACKNOWLEDGED HIS OWN SIN and would ask God for FORGIVENESS. David LOVED God no matter what, thats what motivated him to go back and repent.

Today, despite our constant mess ups and weaknesses. Lets remember one thing and its that God will NEVER despise a repented, broken and contrite heart.

He knows the Ugly, But still LOVES us

Psalm 139

1You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.

God knows us better then anyone. Better then we know ourselves ..He knows the Good, the Bad, the Ugly and the parts of us that we've never disclosed to a single soul.

Yet HIS WORD continues to remind us of his unfailing & unconditional LOVE for us. Today, let's EMBRACE that LOVE & let it change us from the inside out.

When I am afraid....

Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

In this life, there are many things that can cause us to have fear. Whether it the fear of entering a new job or fear of not having enough money to pay all the bills on time, or fear that something bad will happen to us or a loved one. There will ALWAYS be some type of fear lurking at our door, trying to STEAL our peace.

But today, we are REMINDED that the God we serve is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. HE is our PEACE, our JOY and our COMFORT. So that next time fear threatens to steal our peace.

Let's remember to take a deep breath and TRUST GOD.He is in control.

Called on PURPOSE

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I KNEW YOU,     before you were born I SET YOU APART;     I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Has there ever been a moment in your life, where you wonder why you were born? Maybe if you look at your past, you've even gone as far as thinking you were a mistake or an accident just because of the way life has unfolded for you.

Today, this verse is a REMINDER for you that GOD knew you before you were even a thought in the mind of your parents! He has called you for HIS PURPOSE. You are UNIQUE on PURPOSE! Don't ever question your existence here on earth. YOU have a job to do.

Seek God's face and walk in the calling that only YOU can do with the HELP OF GOD.

Why do we DOUBT God?

Matthew 14:30

 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Many times the reason why we don't experience COMPLETE breakthroughs in our lives is because while God is working, we begin to look around at our circumstances and the complexities of them. We lose faith in what God is doing in our lives., even though we've already started walking on water.

Today, let's not DOUBT what GOD has promised he would do. Remember we've already started walking on water, all we have to do is keep our eyes on Jesus.

God opens doors, No Man can shut

Revelation3:8 

“I see what you’ve done. Now see what I’ve done. I’ve opened a door before you that no one can slam shut. You don’t have much strength, I know that; you used what you had to keep my Word. You didn’t deny me when times were rough.

Isnt it wonderful to know that even when we're tired and running out of strength... We are reminded that the doors GOD has opened for us, NO MAN can shut.
