Being busy can become a Distraction.

Luke 10:38 

Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was DISTRACTED with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”41 And Jesus answered and said to her,“Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Like Martha, even though our DESIRE is to have a close relationship with God, our busy schedules & neverending to do list often become a distraction.

Today, lets make sure we make time for the most important relationship in our lives and that is our relationship with JESUS ♥

Stand Firm & Worship God

2 Chronicles 20 17 

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”18 Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord.

So many times, when we have problems our first reaction is to try and solve them on our own. Take matters into our own hands. BUT the Word of GOD says for us to take our positions, stand firm and SEE the deliverance that the Lord will give us. The Word also states that in that time of standing still Jehoshaphat & the people of Judah & Jerusalem began to WORSHIP & GIVE thanks for their delivery.

Today, in the midst of our problems, lets do the same. Lets STAND STILL & WORSHIP GOD because we know that tomorrow when go to face the problem HE will give us the VICTORY.

Don't forget to PRAISE God for what he's already done

Luke 17:15-17

  One of them, when he saw he was HEALED, CAME BACK, PRAISING GOD in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to GOD except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

All 10 lepers were in the same awful position. All PRAYED & were HEALED. Yet only ONE returns to offer thanksgiving. So many times we see our need to PRAY but we don't see our need to PRAISE God for our delivery afterwards.

Today let's not forget to PRAISE God for the the miracles he has ALREADY done in our lives.

Church is a Hospital for Sinnners, Not a club for Saints

Mark2 16 & 17

When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

The "Church" is essentially a hospital for those who are sick. Let's keep that in mind every time we mess up. The "Hospital" is where you go to get better when you are sick & struggling with disease of sin. Today let's SEEK the Doctor Jesus , his LOVE is the medicine this world will NEVER prescribe.

Never Forget

Ephesians 6:10-12

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

On this day, we are to remember those who fought for their country, and died defending what they believed in.

In the spiritual world there is also a war and in war there are always casualties. Today we pray for those who were in war and have been left for dead by our enemy. We remember those who once were so ready to fight for what they believed in and were knocked out so badly that still haven't gotten up. We present them in prayer and ask the Lord to help them stand up once again. Today we will not forget our beloved soldiers both physically and spirituality.

Keep Calm & Trust God

Matthew 6:26

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

So many of us spend countless hours worrying. But like the verse says "worry" won't add a single hour to our lives. Worry is actually a thief because it steals precious time from us that we will NEVER get back. Let's not waste any more time worrying. Instead do everything you can possibly do and the rest keep calm and trust God.

Zephaniah 3:17

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

One guy told this story - Stopped for a routine seatbelt check, my wife and I were asked by the officer if we had our belts on. Then he shone his flashlight into the backseat and asked our six-year-old son Riley, “can you put your hands up, buddy?” As we continued our way, my wife noticed Riley was upset. “What’s wrong?” she asked him. “I thought he was going to SHOOT ME!” (Readers’ Digest, Feb.2005, p.71)

Sometimes we feel the same way, that if we come to church "God will shoot us"cause we've been so bad. But the TRUTH is that when we come to him, he rejoices over us cause His LOVE for us is greater then we can ever imagine. Today remember GOD loves you no matter where you are on the path of life.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Today let's stop dwelling on everything that's going wrong in our lives. Instead lets think about the positive. What we pay attention to, what we focus upon in life will usually determine the kind of decisions we make. Lets not make irrational decisions because we failed to see the positive.

Don't run away from the Giant

1 Samuel 17:44-45

44 “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!” 45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

Everyday we will be confronted by giants who taunt, insult and frighten us. But we have a choice each time. We can run away scared of what's before us or we can stay put and say what David said... “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied."

Today, let's stop running from our problems, instead let's stay put and know that the GOD we serve will defend us.

Is anything too hard for the Lord ?

Genesis 18:12-13

12 So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “Will I have this joy after my husband and I have grown old?” 13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘How can I give birth to a child when I am so old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Sometimes like Sarah, our reaction is that we laugh to ourselves because when promised something it seems like an impossibility. But GOD says to us like he told Abraham. "Is ANYTHING too hard for the Lord"? Today let's HOLD onto God's promises even if they seem far fetched cause NOTHING is impossible for GOD.

Broken Promises

Joshua 21:45

45 Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.

How many of us have broken promises or have been left with a broken promise ? Probably every single person reading this text. Let's be confident that the GOD we serve is not unfaithful like us. Every single promise that he has declared over your life WILL BE FULFILLED. Do not allow your present circumstances to create doubt in your mind. Today start thanking him for what he's about to do in your life.

Even when we're all MESSED UP.

Romans 5:8

but God shows his LOVE for us in that while we were STILL sinners, Christ DIED for us.

The WORD says that while we were STILL sinners. Not "once he saw we became good people". Remember regardless where you are at in life, GOD LOVES YOU !

Too many times we think that we have to "fix" ourselves before GOD can loves us. Even he knew we would be unfaithful, deny him, curse him etc etc he STILL DIED for us.

Today, let's come to the Lord with a GRATEFUL heart cause even when we're all messed up. He STILL LOVES us.

Deuteronomy 31:8

Sometimes we feel like God has abandoned us. But in REALITY its us who wandered far away from him & don't realize it until we need him.

Live By Faith

Hebrews 11:1

Now FAITH is being SURE we will get what we hope for. It is being sure of what we cannot see.

A Houston Pastor named John Bisagno put it this way: "Faith is the heart of life. You go to a doctor whose name you can’t pronounce. He gives you a prescription you cannot read. You take it to a pharmacist you have never seen. He gives you medication you do not understand --- and yet, you take it." Now, that is living by Faith!

Dwelling on OUR PAST

Micah 7:19

How many of us constantly dwell on our past mistakes AFTER we've already asked for forgiveness? Why do we meditate on something that no longer exists? The WORD OF GOD says that our sins have been thrown into the depths of the sea. Today let's not ALLOW the enemy to make us feel GUILTY for something we've already been forgiven for. GOD will NOT give you more then we can handle

1 Corinthians 10:13

13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Today, remember GOD is faithful and won't give us more then we can handle. Sometimes we feel like we're getting hit from all angles with temptation. But the WORD OF GOD says that HE WILL provide a way OUT so we can endure it. Have a BLESSED DAY !

BROKEN

MARK 14:3-4

3 While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She BROKE the jar and poured the PERFUME on his head. 4 Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, “Why this WASTE of perfume?

When we're BROKEN, society looks at us & says what a WASTE of good PERFUME. But sometimes we have to be BROKEN in order for anything GOOD to come out of us. Today lets EMBRACE those moments of brokenness cause its in those moments GOD GLORIFIES himself most.

Psalm 27:13-14

13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

No more LIP SERVICE

Isaiah 29:13

13 The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.

Today, lets not go through the motions of religion and offer to GOD what we THINK he wants to hear. Instead let's be GENUINE and speak to him from our hearts. God doesn't want lip service, he wants to hear your heart.

Today a group of Young People in Rockland County have decided they will no longer remain SILENT. They will no longer be ASHAMED of the Gospel. They will let the LIGHT that GOD has placed inside them shine bright.

STOP RUNNING IN CIRCLES

Matthew 6:33

But seek FIRST his kingdom & his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Have you seen a lot of unstable people lately? Have you seen those who keep running like a hamster in a cage but never get anywhere or finish anything? How many times have we felt like that hamster?

Today, let's stop running in circles. Let's SEEK GOD FIRST, cause when we do everything falls into place and we become STABLE in him.

Your breakthrough IS COMING.

Isaiah 40:30-31

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who WAIT on the Lord Shall RENEW their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall RUN and not be weary, They shall WALK and not faint.

Sometimes when we've been praying for something & it doesn't happen, we grow tired. Things seem to get worse & we may even feel like quitting. BUT TODAY, we are reminded that those who WAIT upon the Lord shall RENEW their strength. They shall RUN & NOT be weary, They shall WALK & NOT be faint.
